The overall winner of the contest was senior Mary Tidwell for her fantasy genre submission that captured the snowy beauty of Narnia.
Each winner received a book in the genre of their entry as well as a book-themed enamel pin and a punch card for five free cappuccinos or hot chocolate drinks from the RHS library. In addition to this small prize, Mary Tidwell also received three more fantasy books to add to her personal library.

Russellville High School's bowling team recently participated in matches with Clarksville, Van Buren, and Hot Springs Lakeside. The bowling team is led by Coach Mickey Duvall.

Russellville High School Interact Club recently wrote Christmas cards to the Legacy Heights nursing home. Students met at the city mall to make the cards and they were able to deliver 85 cards to the residents.

Congratulations to Tracy Daniels, Ben Haulmark, and Gabe Hogue on being named 6A West All State in football.
The Career Coaches took 45 Juniors and Seniors to UCA for Bear Facts Day, where they were able to tour the school, learn about the different programs they have available, and experience a taste of campus life.
Students from the RHS Renaissance Board met with Mr. Santillan of Superior Forestry, the largest forestry commercial contractor, to learn about what the business entails and its contribution to the Russellville community.

The high school had a special visit from the Arkansas Tech Ambassador, Jerry the Bulldog! He was there to invite Seniors to attend Time Out for Tech and learn more about what ATU has to offer our students.
Hannah Fiedler a junior at Russellville High School created an animation in EAST on the four seasons of the year. Hannah created this animation with the hopes of sharing it with our local elementary schools to use for educational purposes.

On November 15, students enrolled in Pre-Educator classes at Russellville High School participated in Educator Rising Competition Region 1 conference at ATU. Seven students placed either 1st or 2nd in their events and will go on to compete at the state competition on March 29th at Arkansas State University.
