Joy Skaggs made an impressive appearance at the Microsoft Word World competition on July 31st, 2023. Competing against 39 participants from different countries, Joy managed to secure the 7th position in the competition. This is truly a remarkable achievement, and we extend our congratulations to Joy for this accomplishment.
In July of 2023, with the support of the RHS Administration and the help of the RHS Critter Care students, Chance Duncan made RHS the first and only secondary educational institution in the world reproducing the critically endangered Louisiana Pine Snake. He hatched 4 baby pine snakes from his pair of adults and will be incorporating all of them in a genetics research project in the fall he hopes his students will be able to take to statewide and beyond science research competitions. Though none of these are appropriate to release into the wild, they will provide invaluable contributions to the captive gene pool of one of the rarest and most endangered snakes in the US.
Yearbooks for 2022/2023 are now in. We will be distributing yearbooks Monday August 7th and Tuesday August 8th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the high school cafeteria.

Congratulations to Joy Skaggs for becoming
the Gold medalist of the 2023 Microsoft Office Specialist US National Championship Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019). Joy was awarded a $3000 scholarship, an XBox, and an all expense paid trip to the World Championship. Way to go and good luck at the World Championship!

Congratulations to the students at RHS for earning their Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel! Adding Microsoft Office Specialist certifications to your resume can demonstrate to potential employers that you possess the skills and proficiency to complete tasks effectively and efficiently using Microsoft products. Your hard work and dedication have paid off and you should be proud of your achievement.

Congratulations to these 15 Russellville High School students for obtaining the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy demonstrating proficiency in English and Spanish.
Adopted first by California in 2011, the Seal of Biliteracy is now recognized in 49 states and Washington D.C. According to the official website, “the Seal of Biliteracy encourages students to pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students attain, and can be evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college
admissions offices.” Since the 2017 pilot year in Arkansas, a total of 4,362 students from 95 high schools around the state have attained this certification across twenty-four languages other than English.
