Dwight Elementary is a small, neighborhood school located in the heart of Russellville. It is made up of approximately 240 students in kindergarten through fourth grades. Students who attend Dwight live in the neighborhood, the greater Russellville area, as well as surrounding areas. Our student population has a wide diversity of backgrounds.

Dwight has two classrooms at each grade level, a self-contained classroom, and an ALE classroom. Students attend art, science lab, music, library, and P.E. weekly. Thanks to our smaller size, we know all of our students by name, and greet them so each morning.

All staff at Dwight are committed to helping our students reach his or her potential and develop the social ability to work with others and contribute to their family and community. We are dedicated to our students’ academic and social/emotional needs and successes. Our staff work to provide a differentiated, rigorous curriculum that keeps our students actively engaged in their learning. At Dwight, we know that “learning happens together.”

Dwight has a very active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) that supports our classrooms through their time and dedication as well as providing supplies, parties, and field trips for our students. Our largest PTO event is our Fun Fair that takes place in March. This is a fun time for families to gather and eat, be entertained, and play games.

Dwight is fortunate to have wonderful community support as well. Arvest Bank and Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market are our community partners that have helped us in the past through donations of time and money. The Junior Auxiliary works closely with Dwight to provide lunch buddies that support the social and emotional development of our students. Wesley United Methodist Church has an after school program that many Dwight students attend that provides students with snacks and playtime.

Dwight is a strong academic institute with a small environment allowing students to know each other and staff members. This closeness helps our students feel their importance and build their character. We are truly a family at Dwight.
