Meet the 2nd Grade Teachers

My name is Alicia Brown. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arkansas State University. I have taught since 2006 in kindergarten, first, third, fourth, and now second grade. I absolutely love teaching at Center Valley and feel that every year my family grows larger. My students will always have a place in my heart. I am a mom to two boys, Reid who attends CVE, and Blake who attends ATU. I am an avid baseball fan, which is evident when walking into my classroom. I love spending time with my family, and the best part of the summer is being able to watch baseball games or travel to see them.

My name is Cindy Harvey and I have taught at Center Valley since 1987. I taught kindergarten for 20 years and have been teaching second grade ever since. I am married to Bill Harvey who retired from teaching fifth grade. I have three children. Brooke is an RN in Colorado (CO), Lisa works for Arkansas Seed Company in CO, and Billy is working for the Nuclear Plant in Russellville. I have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild who all live in CO. I enjoy time with my family and visiting CO every chance I get (when it isn’t snowing). I love teaching my second-graders and seeing them grow.

I am Trina McKenzie and I have taught in the Russellville School District since 1984. I’ve taught first, second, and third grade but second is my favorite. I am a National Board Certified teacher. I am married to Ron and I have one daughter Emily who is the mother of my grandchildren: Hannah Jo and Jacob George. My favorite thing to do with my free time is to read and play games on my Kindle. But my most favorite thing to do is teach! "If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." -Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Estrada

My name is Maegan Pollack. I started at Center Valley in 2015. I attended elementary school at Center Valley. I graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently going back to school to earn my master’s degree in school counseling. I love teaching and seeing all the growth the kids make throughout the year.
